Within the project (Improvement of Science Education at the Primary Schools in Palestine – Phase 2) which is implemented by Teacher Creativity Center and funded by Campaign for the Children of Palestine (CCP Japan), thirty science teachers from the fifteen targeted schools in Bethlehem , were trained for four consecutive days in the laboratories of Bethlehem University.
The teachers were trained to conduct the experiments related to the curriculum of the fifth and sixth grades. The training was provided by three of the university's most prominent lecturers in each of the three subjects (physics, chemistry and biology).
The participants expressed their strong satisfaction about the training in terms of organization, exchange of experiences and benefit from the experiments that were implemented during the training.
On September 1st, a one-day training was also held for the principals of the same fifteen targeted schools in Bethlehem. The training included mechanisms and methodologies for evaluating science teachers by principals and supporting the science teachers and urge them to use laboratories in the science classes.
In addition, the rehabilitation of the science laboratories began after an engineering construction company was contracted to rehabilitate and maintain and scientific laboratories at the targeted schools.
