Ramallah – Saturday, 23 November 2024
Teacher Creativity Center(TCC) in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, concluded a training titled "The Social-Emotional Learning Theory." The workshop targeted 32 participants, including teachers, principals, and educational supervisors from 15 schools affiliated with the Ramallah and Al-Bireh and Birzeit Directorates in the West Bank.
The workshop aimed to build participants’ capacities in employing the skills of the social-emotional learning (SEL) theory in school contexts and to enhance teachers' ability to integrate SEL skills into their educational practices. This integration helps children overcome social and emotional challenges that impact their academic and social performance. Participants were also trained in early diagnosis skills for children facing such challenges and in developing educational strategies to address them.
The training included practical models and discussions on applying the theory in the classroom, in addition to enhancing participants' training skills to transfer knowledge to their fellow teachers, thereby broadening the impact across schools.
This workshop is part of the Social-Emotional Learning Program managed by Teacher Creativity Center, funded by the government of Luxembourg. The program aims to enhance the social and academic performance of children in the West Bank, Jerusalem, and Gaza Strip by addressing the effects of social and emotional challenges, as part of the project's third phase.
