Conclusion of Theoretical Training for Science Teachers in Hebron Schools as Part of Improving the Quality of Science Education Project

Teacher Creativity Center (TCC) has successfully concluded a theoretical training program for science teachers in Hebron schools as part of the project “Improving the Quality of Science Education in Primary Schools through the Rehabilitation of Science Labs and the Development of Teachers, Principals, and Students.” The project is implemented in partnership with the Campaign for the Children of Palestine (CCP Japan) and the Ministry of Education, funded by the Government of Japan.

This year, the project targets thirty teachers from fifteen schools within the Directorate of South Hebron, including Mahmoud Darwish Boys' School, Bani Harith Boys' Basic School, Rafat Boys' School, Karam Al-Ashqar Boys' Basic School, Jaafar Ibn Abi Talib Boys' School, Douma Boys' Basic School, Abu Obaida Boys' Basic School, Al-Khwarizmi Boys' School, Al-Andalus School, Shuhada Al-Dhahiriya Secondary School, Al-Majdal Boys' Basic School, Al-Rahma Basic School, Deir Al-Asal Al-Fouqa School, Asqalan Basic School, and Dar Al-Salam Girls' School.

The training was led by Dr. Yaseen Qawasmi, Assistant Professor of Physical Chemistry at Palestine Polytechnic University, and the four days training was conducted at the Istad Dora hall. The sessions focused on various strategies for teaching science, understanding different learning styles of students and tailoring teaching methods accordingly, managing and maintaining science labs, ensuring safety and security in labs, evaluating the teaching of science in fifth and sixth grades, and applying practical teaching strategies in science education.

The training workshop was supervised by Ms. Heba Hammad, Coordinator of the Right to Education Program- TCC, and Mr. Mohammad Sabri, the project coordinator- TCC, with guidance and follow-up by Mr. Hazem Abu Jazar from the Ministry of Education.
